A young physician team arrived from the University of Szeged and took over the medical duties of the psychiatric department of the teaching hospital in April 2021, and with the experienced team of psychologists and nurses working here, they started developing the operation.
Our activities are based on collaboration, cooperation, scientific foundations, and a dedication to the active cultivation of research. The Hospital’s management, committed to development, supports the implementation of our work and innovations.
Our Values
Alleviating the suffering of all our fellow human beings who turn to us, and helping to restore their mental health is our vocation.Patients and those suffering from mental crisis conditions have the right to the highest available level of treatment, which is why, in addition to making full use of our infrastructural possibilities, we work with all our efforts to establish scientific foundations for our activities, and to achieve continuous development. Constant development shapes our image and gives us stability. All our developments serve to improve the mental health of the people living in our care area, but in addition, we constantly publish our results, so that our work is checked and evaluated by the professional environment. We consider it extremely important to integrate psychiatry as deeply as possible into the cooperation of the partner professions, therefore we believe in the need for close consultative work, joint education, dissemination of knowledge, and joint research. We are enthusiastic and agile, committed to our profession. We work shoulder to shoulder as a community, our motto is: ‘As a member of the team, I cannot do less than the others’.
Our Mission
In the Hospital’s care area, in addition to the comprehensive treatment of people living with psychiatric conditions, our mission is to prevent the development of serious mental illnesses based on screenings in schools, and to promote the prevention of dementia syndromes based on screenings in the field of elderly care. We have set ourselves the task of developing good practices based on systematic research in the field of screening and preventive intervention of serious mental syndromes, as well as the accurate identification of suicidal crisis states. Our goal is to carry out research and educational work in the field of dietary interventions focusing on brain metabolism in national psychiatric care. We are also dedicated to research and development in the field of noninvasive neuromodulation interventions.
Welcome Message from the Chief Physician
Dear Visitor,
On behalf of our department and hospital, it is with pleasure that I welcome you to our website. The psychiatry department of the teaching hospital of the University of Szeged bases its curative and preventive activities on scientific activity which is grounded in close research and development cooperation with the University and the Biological Research Center, as well as in cooperation with European and overseas scientific teams. Although our infrastructural conditions need to be improved and are actually being improved, our team of doctors, psychologists, and specialized nurses do everything possible to cure mental illnesses as effectively as possible, alleviate the suffering of those who come to us, help restore their mental health, and fcilitate the restoration of the quality of life they had before the onset of the disorder. By participating in our research and screenings, anyone can support the development of the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental illnesses.
